I am pleased to invite you to the V Meeting of SFRBM - South American Group and to the V International Conference on Peroxynitrite and Reactive Nitrogen Species that will be held jointly in Montevideo, Uruguay, September 2-6, 2007. The joint Congress (Free Radicals in Montevideo 2007) will be held in the Radisson-Victoria Plaza Hotel (http://www.radisson.com/Montevideouy) a “classic” five star hotel, located on the heart of Montevideo, in the transition between downtown and the “Ciudad Vieja” (Old City). This lovely area has plenty of restaurants, shops and museums and provides numerous and varied opportunities for walking, exercising, shopping, dining and participation in cultural events.
We
have generated a scientific program which is composed of
plenary conferences, parallel oral presentations, poster sessions and a
free radical school. The
meeting will bring together world experts working at the chemical,
biochemical, cell biology and pathology levels and is intended to both
discuss breakthrough discoveries in the field and also to provide a
forum for the numerous regional students and faculty who are actively
working on the areas of oxygen radicals, nitric oxide, peroxynitrite and
oxidative signaling and damage.
You will enjoy being in the congress, in an active, friendly and scientifically-exciting atmosphere; your contribution will be critical to the success of this international event that will serve to move forward the research field, stimulate its development in our region and create new north-south collaborations. I look forward to meeting you in Montevideo. With
my best personal regards, Rafael
Radi, MD, PhD Professor
and Chair of Biochemistry Howard
Hughes International Research Scholar President-Elect,
The Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine
